Artificial intelligence and digital learning technologies offer new opportunities for vocational education and training. In the context of climate risk insurance, AI-based tools enable scenario analysis, risk modelling, and real-time decision support.

Through its AI-powered learning platform and chatbot, CLIMATIX introduces hands-on, interactive learning experiences that allow professionals to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world climate risk scenarios. This approach enhances learning outcomes and supports innovation in insurance education.

The CLIMATIX partners have jointly developed and selected the official project logo. The logo reflects the project’s focus on climate risk, insurance, innovation, and digital transformation.

Following the logo selection, work is currently underway on the project’s visual identity, including design guidelines for digital and communication materials. This visual identity will ensure a consistent and recognizable presence of CLIMATIX across all project outputs, platforms, and dissemination activities.

CLIMATIX partners are currently actively working on Work Package 2 – Curriculum Development & Online Learning Platform.

This phase focuses on analysing the current state of climate risk insurance education across partner countries, identifying skills gaps, regulatory challenges, and existing training practices. The results of this analysis will form the foundation for developing a high-quality, industry-relevant digital curriculum tailored to the needs of insurance professionals and VET learners across Europe.

The insurance sector is undergoing rapid transformation driven by climate change, digitalization, and new regulatory requirements. At the same time, many professionals lack access to structured, practice-oriented training in climate risk assessment.

CLIMATIX aims to bridge this skills gap by developing innovative vocational training supported by artificial intelligence and digital learning tools. By aligning education with labour market needs, the project supports both professional development and the long-term resilience of the insurance sector.

Climate change is significantly increasing the frequency and severity of extreme weather events such as floods, wildfires, and storms. These developments pose major challenges for insurers, businesses, and public institutions.

Insurance plays a key role in climate adaptation by helping societies manage and transfer climate-related risks. However, effective climate risk insurance requires specialized knowledge, data-driven decision-making, and an understanding of evolving regulatory frameworks. CLIMATIX addresses this challenge by strengthening professional competencies and modernizing training in climate risk insurance.

On 14 November 2025, the CLIMATIX project consortium successfully held its online Kick-Off Meeting, marking the official start of joint project implementation.

During the meeting, partners were welcomed by the project coordinator and introduced their organizations and roles within the project. The consortium discussed the overall objectives and expected outputs of CLIMATIX, as well as the project management structure, communication tools, and quality assurance framework. Special attention was given to administrative and financial rules for Erasmus+ projects, the implementation of Work Package 2 – Curriculum Development & Online Learning Platform, and the project’s dissemination strategy and visual identity.

The meeting concluded with a clear overview of tasks, responsibilities, and next steps, ensuring a strong and well-coordinated start of the project.

We are pleased to announce that the CLIMATIX – Climate Risk Insurance Training & AI eXperience project officially started on 1 November 2025.

The project brings together a strong European partnership of universities, vocational education and training providers, regional development organizations, and AI technology experts. Over the next 30 months, CLIMATIX will develop innovative digital and AI-powered training solutions to strengthen climate risk insurance education and support climate adaptation across Europe.
